Gill decided to bat first. As expected Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal opened the innings for India. Shubman Gill-led team India will take on Zimbabwe for 3rd T20 match at the Harare Sports Ground today. The series is currently evenly poised with both teams winning one match each and the bilateral trophy still being up for grabs. Shubman Gill’s side will be more emboldened with the addition of World Cup winning trio of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson and Sanju Samson. However, with new players coming into the side, it could be the end of series of some youngsters like Sai Sudarshan, Dhruv Jurel and Riyan Parag. Moreover, there could also be a change in the batting lineup, with Yashasvi Jaiswal set to take the opening berth. Zimbabwe, on the other hand, would look like to make a strong comeback after facing a 100 run defeat in the last encounter. In particular, this young Minnows lineup would need to improve their batting performance if they want to stand any chance of defeating the World Champions.India vs Zimbabwe 3rd T20I: Playing XIsIndia: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill(c), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson(w), Shivam Dube, Rinku Singh, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Khaleel AhmedZimbabwe: Tadiwanashe Marumani, Wessly Madhevere, Brian Bennett, Dion Myers, Sikandar Raza(c), Johnathan Campbell, Clive Madande(w), Wellington Masakadza, Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani, Tendai Chatara 10 Jul 2024, 07:52:44 PM IST India vs Zimbabwe Live Score: Gill, Gaikwad lead India to beat Zimbabwe by 23 runs India vs Zimbabwe Live Score: Chasing 183 runs in the third T20I against India at Harare, Zimbabwe could only score 159/6 runs in 20 overs and lost to India by 23 runs. For Zimbabwe, Dion Myers scored a half century of 45 balls and was unbeaten at 65 off 49 balls. On Sunday afternoon, the Lakers were blown out in their second game of the California C Classic, losing 92-68 to the Golden State Warriors.
With Bronny James Jr. out, all eyes were on Dalton Knecht, who scored 12 points and grabbed two rebounds, two steals and an assist. Armel Traoré had seven rebounds along with 11 points. Sean East II pitched in with 10 points, three rebounds and two assists.
Blake Hinson again came off the bench and scored eight points with five rebounds, two steaks and an assist. Colin Castleton messed around and got a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Warriors were off to a better start than the Lakers who struggled to connect on their shots early. Castleton got the ball rolling for LA with two free throws. Jason Rowe and Ethan Thompson were leading the offensive charge for the Warriors.
After having a slow start in the last game, Castleton looked more comfortable and nailed his first midrange shot. Hinson continued his sharpshooting, drilling two threes for Los Angeles.
The Lakers, however, struggled defensively and their shooting quickly cooled, going 5-22 from the field in the opening quarter. After one quarter of play, they were down by 14 after one frame of play.
Mantas Rubštavičius looked like a multiverse version of Steph Curry, shooting the lights out for Golden State. The Lakers could not find any rhythm in the first half as Knecht and company struggled.
Much of this quarter was spent with the Warriors getting whatever they wanted from both sides of the floor.
There were some glimpses of life from the Lakers. Knecht had a nice 3-pointer midway through the second quarter and Traoré was a rebounding machine for LA with six in the first half.
Unfortunately, the Lakers found themselves down 15 at the break.

The second half began with a bad foul and turnover for Los Angeles and Golden State extended their lead to 20.
Knecht drove down the lane for a monster dunk that gave everyone a jolt. He then made a layup and was fouled, making the free throw for a 3-point play. He was the only Laker, at that point in the game, in double digits, as nobody else could get themselves going offensively.
Knecht continued to find great shots and attack the paint, but he couldn’t knock down many of them. An assist by Knecht to Vincent Valerio-Bodan for a dunk in transition was another jolt of fun. At the end of the third, the Warriors were up 73-50.
The Warriors would not fold in the fourth and kept piling on. They led by 29 with five minutes left and coasted to victory the rest of the way.
Key Takeaways:
The shots struggled to fall, but Knecht is getting more comfortable and confident.
One aspect the team needs to work on is the 3-point shooting. Hinson showed a lot of promise in the first game as a potential sharpshooter from behind the arc but missed eight of his 10 attempts in this game.
The Lakers have a lot of work to do defensively, as well. They were crushed inside the paint on Sunday, getting outscored in the paint 50-28.
Catch the final California Classic game on Wednesday against the Miami Heat at 4:00 PM PT.

QUINCY — Alex McCulla knew his record-setting round needed to be signed for and verified.

So after his foursome that included former Quincy Notre Dame golf teammates Jack Leffers, David Hutson and Luke Siebers completed their round Thursday afternoon, they went to the clubhouse so there’d be witnesses.

McCulla, the reigning Quincy men’s city champion who is heading into his senior season at Illinois State University, shot an 11-under 60 to break the course record by one stroke. Luke Guthrie and the late Ryan Buxman shared the record at 10-under 61.

Still, it’s not the lowest round ever posted on the Westview track.

That honor belongs to Mike O’Connell, who shot an 11-under 59 at Westview in 1975.

The course was redesigned in 1999 by Golf Resources, the Dallas-based company co-owned by Quincy native D.A. Weibring. The redesign added some length to the course, changed the angle of some tee boxes and altered the landscape.

So McCulla’s mark is considered the modern day record.

O’Connell owns the old-school standard when the course played to a par 70.

An eight-time Quincy men’s city champion and one of the most decorated amateur golfers this region has ever seen, O’Connell left his mark at Westview with a round that included a 28 on the front nine and a 31 on the back. He was playing with Jerry Brennan, who shot a 71, and Marv Pruitt, who posted a 76.

He broke the record of 8-under 63 set by Jay Haas, the Belleville, Ill., golfer who became an NCAA champion and later won nine times on the PGA Tour.

O’Connell’s round featured 13 3s and five 4s on his scorecard.

At the time, O’Connell had won five of his eight city championships and no professional golfer had ever shot better than 60 in an event. The first PGA Tour member to shoot 59 was Al Geiberger, who posted a 13-under 59 during the Memphis Classic in 1977.

O’Connell’s feat was written about in both Golf Digest and Golf Magazine.

The Indiana Fever secured their most impressive win of the season on Saturday when they pulled off a fourth-quarter comeback to beat the league-leading New York Liberty, 83-78, on CBS. In the process, No. 1 overall pick Caitlin Clark became the first rookie in WNBA history and first player in Fever franchise history to record a triple-double.With Clark leading the way, the Fever jumped out to an early double-digit lead. Slowly but surely, however, the Liberty worked their way back into the contest, and showed why they entered the game with a 17-3 record. By the fourth quarter, the Liberty had pushed their lead up to 11 points, and it seemed they would cruise to another win.The Fever had other ideas. They were first able to hang around, then closed the game on a stunning 15-5 run. They pulled ahead for good on a layup by Aliyah Boston with two minutes to play. Clark finished with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists, while Boston, Kelsey Mitchell and NaLyssa Smith all scored in double figures. With the win, the Fever improved to 9-13 on the season and currently occupy the eighth and final playoff spot.
