Stokes – who made his England debut against Australia in December 2013 and played his 100th game in the format in India over the winter – is now back as a fully-fledged all-rounder after successful knee surgery. His return to that role gives England greater balance to their side and is a huge boost as they build for the next away Ashes series in Australia in 2025-26.
Stokes bowled an eight-over spell against West Indies on day one at Lord’s, dismissing opener Mikyle Louis courtesy of a stunning one-handed catch from Harry Brook.

He also removed Louis in West Indies’ second innings, moving onto 201 wickets when the batter snicked behind to Jamie Smith and getting through 10 overs in that spell.
Speaking before the series, the skipper said: “I can finally say that I can play the role that I’ve been known for, for 10 years, which is batting and being that fourth seamer.”I’ve worked very, very hard to get into this position and I know how much me as that fourth seamer adds to the team. I’m really excited to get going this week.”Strauss: Stokes has energy and verveEx-England cricket captain Andrew Strauss said Stokes bowling without being in pain was a positive sign for the group, but his batting form has dipped in recent times.”Seeing Ben Stokes walking around without a limp is a good start and he’s bowling around with energy and verve,” said Strauss.”When the ball is swinging, Ben Stokes is as effective as any of the England bowlers and we’ve seen that over the course of this match so far.”He hasn’t been in his best form with the bat in recent times and to have this extra string to his bow is useful and of course, it balances up the team at the same time.”Ad content | Stream Sky Sports on NOWStream Sky Sports live with no contract on a Month or Day membership on NOW. DUNEDIN, Fla. — Renovations are well underway at the Dunedin Golf Club. The $6.3 million investment includes funding from the American Rescue Plan Act and a historical preservation grant.

What You Need To Know

The Dunedin Golf Club is undergoing a $6.3 million renovation
The public can expect eco-friendly upgrades that will take the club’s historically renowned design into the future
Renovations include drought resistant turf and water efficient irrigation system

In June, The Feinstein Group, which already owns several popular restaurants in Dunedin, including The Black Pearl and The Living Room, was selected to take over dining at the clubhouse. The new restaurant will be called Highland House.
The public can also expect eco-friendly upgrades that will take the club’s historically renowned design into the future.
“We were built in 1926. The great golf architect Donald Ross was the architect,” said General Manager Blair Kline. “This is all about honoring Donald Ross and we truly hope we make him proud.”
Parts of the course will use TifTuf, a hybrid Bermuda grass developed at the University of Georgia, that uses nearly 40% less water.
“TifTuf has the drought tolerance where it holds its green longer,” said Professor Brian Schwartz, who helped develop the grass. “It usually grows well in the wintertime for Florida, which is nice because that’s when a lot of your seasonal players are coming down from other parts of the country.”
Along with drought resistant turf, the course irrigation system is getting an overhaul, to include more water efficient capabilities. Dead or diseased trees, as well as invasive species, were replaced with native trees.
The Dunedin Golf Club is expected to reopen in November.

Concert Golf Partners, a Florida-based company that owns 34 upscale private golf and country clubs nationwide, has purchased Jasna Polana.

Some area residents had feared the exclusive gold club in Princeton would be closed for good and the property would be converted to housing because of the content in marketing materials distributed when the property went up for sale.

Concert Golf Partners was founded in 2011 by Peter Nanula, former founder and CEO of Arnold Palmer Golf Management, and co-founder Susan Dunnavant. The company, based near Orlando, is an experienced and premier buyer of private clubs. The company works to preserve the culture, identity, and traditions of each club while making annual capital investments to enhance amenities, service levels, and the membership experience, representatives for the company said.

Concert Golf’s portfolio includes The Club at Pasadera in Monterey, Gaillardia Country Club in Oklahoma City, The Club at Longview in Charlotte, and The Club at Renaissance in Fort Myers. Golf courses are designed by world-renowned golf architects such as Tom Fazio, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Arnold Palmer.

Jasna Polana, a Polish phrase that translates to “bright meadow,” is a 222-acre, upscale private golf club and mansion located along Provinceline Road near the border of Lawrenceville. The property includes event spaces, a tennis court, gardens featuring a reflecting pool, and two private lodges with 16 bedrooms for overnight accommodations.

Opened in 1998, Jasna Polana features an 18-hole golf course designed by World Golf Hall of Fame Member Gary Player. It is considered “one of the most coveted private club memberships” and “among the top private golf courses in New Jersey,” according to Golfing Magazine. Players reportedly once described Jasna Polana as “the finest course of its type” in the world.

The 46,000-square-foot clubhouse was built in 1975 as a private residence for Barbara Piasecka Johnson and J. Seward Johnson Sr., Johnson & Johnson heir. The mansion was designed by renowned architect Wallace Harrison, who also designed Rockefeller Center, Lincoln Center, and the United Nations Headquarters. No expense was spared in creating the mansion, which was designed to accommodate the famed Piasecka-Johnson art collection. At the time of its construction, it was one of America’s most expensive private residences.

After J. Seward Johnson died, Barbara Piasecka Johnson converted Jasna Polana into an exclusive private golf club, retained the PGA TOUR’s TPC Network to manage the facility, and hired nine-time major champion Gary Player to design the 7,100-yard golf course in 1998. The course boasts a 75.0 rating and a slope of 145. Additionally, the club offers a 3.5-acre practice facility featuring a 60,000 sq. ft. practice tee, four putting.

“Jasna Polana will be an exceptional addition to Concert Golf Partners as the company continues to elevate its portfolio of premier, private golf clubs, and provides a unique opportunity to foster the progress and prosperity of the Princeton community,” said José Feliciano, co-founder and managing partner of Clearlake Capital, a member of Concert Golf’s Board of Directors, and a prominent Princeton University alumnus.

In 2020, Feliciano, with his wife Kwanza Jones, gifted $20 million to nearby Princeton University to build two dormitory buildings, contributing to Princeton University’s efforts in increasing the undergraduate student body by about 10 percent.

“We are humbled to invest in a Club with such a rich history, situated within a community that has profoundly shaped my life. We look forward to contributing to the continued legacy and growth of the club, and the vibrant community it supports,” said Feliciano.

The Piasecka Johnson heirs conducted a worldwide search for a new owner of Jasna Polana over the past decade with the help of Cushman & Wakefield. Andy Merin, executive vice chairman of Cushman & Wakefield, said a variety of investors wanted to purchase the property, and 20 offers to buy Jasna Polana were submitted.

“We sought a new owner who would not only maintain the club but also elevate it for our members. Concert Golf clearly demonstrated a strong commitment to preserving the storied traditions and history of Jasna Polana,” said Christopher Piasecki, president of Jasna Polana Golf Club. “Their vision aligns with our dedication to providing an exceptional experience for our members, ensuring that Jasna Polana continues its legacy, and to thrive for generations to come.”

Concert plans to invest $3 million in amenities at Jasna Polana to enhance and complement the existing infrastructure, clubhouse, and golf course. More than 100 works of rare fine art will remain on the property.

“Jasna Polana boasts an immense history, from its ties to the Piasecka Johnson family to its role in professional golf as a past host of the PGA TOUR Champions and the classic Wonderful World of Golf match between Tom Watson and Hal Sutton,” said Jordan Peace, senior vice president of corporate development at Concert Golf. “We are extremely selective about the clubs we add to our portfolio, and we are honored to be the new stewards of this world-class club. Our mission is to preserve and enhance great private clubs, while honoring their culture and traditions in new and exciting ways.”

For Hawaii men’s volleyball middle blocker Kurt Nusterer, the joy in coaching is seeing kids experience moments he cherishes as his “special memories” when he was their age.
Rainbow Wahine setter Jackie Matias says it’s that moment when one of her players has finally developed a certain skill to the point “where it clicks and they’ve figured it out.”
Despite being in the middle of their collegiate careers as student-athletes, Nusterer and Matias are two of a number of UH volleyball players giving back coaching club volleyball this summer.
Rainbow Warriors head coach Charlie Wade is expanding his A‘o A Koa club with at least four girls teams and four boys teams for the upcoming club season.
Tryouts are Saturday at UH Gym 1 and free for any interested volleyball player age 12 to 16 wanting to learn from both UH players and coaches.
There will also be clinics held for interested volleyball players of any level of experience starting at 8 years old.
“We really want to have the opportunity to give back to the community, and there’s no better way than sharing with them how we run practice and things that we do in volleyball and having our players get involved and do the same thing,” Wade said. “I think we offer something for a broad range. If you’re just starting out and haven’t really played and want to get involved in some of the clinics we are running, that would be a good spot, and if you’re an elite level player and looking to play at the collegiate level, there is no one better to be playing for than the collegiate coaches and players.”
Nusterer will coach the 15U boys team with Kainoa Wade, the two-time reigning Star-Advertiser All-State Player of the Year, serving as assistant coach.
Kainoa Wade has been involved with the club since it was established in 2013.
“For me, it’s giving back to the kids and community because I was in their position once,” Kainoa Wade said. “I remember Jakob (Thelle) and Filip Humler were two of my first coaches. They were role models for me and I’ve looked up to them for however long. I want to be that role model to these kids coming up now.”
Matias and UH freshman Adrianna Arquette, the reigning Star-Advertiser All-State Player of the Year, will coach the 13U girls team.
Sophomore Tali Hakas will coach the 14U girls team.
“Giving back sounds cheesy, but honestly, starting where these girls are in their careers — 12 and 13 years old — that’s where I started,” Matias said. “It’s really important to start them off with a lot of good technique, and that’s something I’m really passionate about coaching.”
Nusterer, who grew up in Indiana, said he didn’t have a lot of resources involving the college recruiting process and he made “big mistakes” that nearly derailed his college career.
Part of his experience coaching club volleyball is preparing players and families for the process so they don’t have the same issues.
“I committed to a school, decommitted, and it cost me a lot of scholarship opportunities,” Nusterer said. “I just want to serve as an advocate for the players and for the parents because it’s usually their first time going through the recruiting process and I want to make sure they get as many resources from me as they can.”
Tryouts on Saturday for boys and girls ages 12 and 13 are at 9 a.m. Girls 14, 15 and 16 will try out from 10:30 to noon and boys ages 14 and 15 will go from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Participants are encouraged to show up no later than 15 minutes prior.
Registration info is available at aoakoavolley.com.
